Town Planning Design
A town planning or DA landscape plan should achieve great outcomes, adding value to the development and satisfying council guidelines.
Why do I need a Landscape Plan to obtain a Planning Permit?
You will need a landscape plan prepared by a suitable or qualified designer so that council is satisfied you have considered the landscape surrounding your development. Councils have guidelines that need to be met when it comes to development applications.
The landscape plan can be changed or altered slightly when it comes time to install (which can be a year or more away), however you'll need to check with your specific council regarding changes to the approved plan.
What's included in the Landscape Plan?
Your landscape plan needs to include everything requested by council in your planning permit. Usually this consists of the following:
- Existing trees on site.
- A plant schedule including botanical names of plants, quantities and maturity heights.
- Materials to be used including colour of concrete and types of paving.
- Specify the treatment of all surfaces, mulch, paving, lawn etc.
- Location of bin storage.
- 6 square metres of shed storage.
- Tree protection notes and specifications
